The Department of Transportation has made preparations to conduct a written and trial examination of the driver’s license, which has been postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The department has prepared the criteria for conducting and managing the examination for the license and has written to the transport offices across the country to conduct the examination accordingly.

Loknath Bhusal, information officer of the department, said that the applicants will be able to take the exam in “10 to 15 days”.

“Looking at the recent situation, we have to live in a ‘new normal’. Therefore, we have written to all the transport offices approving the health safety standards to start the examination as soon as possible and issue a notice seven days in advance,” he said.

Although the department had started the homework to conduct the examination a month and a half ago, it could not proceed as it was prohibited to conduct all kinds of examinations.
